New Lens Counselling
(English and French)
Personal profile
I came to counselling late in life, and looking back, it feels like the timing was right. While I have always felt strongly about helping others fulfil their potential, for a long time my curiosity about the world and humanity took precedence.
This curiosity has led me to live many lives in one — lives peppered with many adventures.

Born and educated in France, I worked for a while in the tourist industry, lived in Indonesia for a couple of years, and then settled in Scotland in 1996 to study Biology at the University of Edinburgh. I continued into postgraduate studies, but eventually, my desire to help others fulfil their potential became impossible to ignore. I trained as a Biology teacher — a role I held for about 15 years. Over time, the legacy of COVID burnout and the impossibility (at least for me) of "getting it right for every child" led me to change career.

I discovered the non-directive Person-Centred approach to counselling and psychotherapy while completing a Certificate in Counselling Skills at Edinburgh College. It felt like I had finally found my professional home. I then went on to complete a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy with Persona Development and Training.
I feel absolutely aligned with Person-Centred values, and I believe I can offer the warmth, care, compassion, and openness that are key to successful non-directive therapy.

I look forward to being alongside you — through the tears and the laughter — as we navigate this reflective part of your journey.
